Revolutionary Parenting:  How to Raise Spiritual Champions

What are spiritual champions? They are “individuals who have embraced Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; accept the Bible as truth and as the guide for life; and seek to live in obedience to its principles and in search of ways to continually deepen their relationship with God.”

George Barna found and interviewed thousands of twentysomething spiritual champions and their parents to find out what happened in their homes when the champions were young. Some of what he found will surprise you – all of it will encourage and challenge you.

What this study is NOT: It is not a parenting study about whether or not to spank, how to make and enforce rules, etc.

What is IS: It is a way to help us ask and answer the questions: “How do we raise our own spiritual champions?” and “How do I help my child build a strong foundation of faith?”

The goal of the Family Ministry Team is to help strengthen families by connecting them to ministries that already exist in the church, by providing classes and resources for parents, and by providing events for families to play together and enjoy the company of other families like them.

In the past, we’ve held Sunday School classes for parents (Parenting 101, Handling Anger, and others) as well as evening events with video and discussion (Getting Your Kids to Play on Your Team). We’ve also had family service projects, game nights, and potluck dinners.
