Keeping You Safe
Safe Sanctuary
Creating a safe, loving environment is one of the foundations of what we do as God's people. Developing an atmosphere that protects our children is critical. We, as Christians, must be diligent about this task. Therefore, Cabot UMC has a clearly defined “Safe Sanctuary Policy” outlining clearance requirements, child supervision mandates, and a required training schedule for our staff and volunteers. Maintaining a safe environment within the church and throughout its ministries also stresses our role as mandated reporters in the state of Pennsylvania. Our Safe Sanctuaries Policy is posted in the church office. Its adherence is monitored by our Staff Parish Relations Committee as it is their responsibility to oversee both staff and volunteers of our church. Shepherds Watch
This group is what the name suggests. We watch over our flock by attending to the safety and security of the people, building, and property of Cabot UMC. We are an A.L.I.C.E. - certified organization (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). The members who serve receive ongoing training throughout the year. The safety team members secure the safety of the people in the building and the security team members conduct tasks related to people and situations that put those inside at risk. Alice Certificate
Cabot UMC has successfully met the requirements of the ALICE Training Institute's Certified Organization program. |
